Sistemas Informáticos Europeos successfully installs the cluster that the University of Vigo has awarded it for an amount of 277.000 euros.
This calculation system based on SIE Ladón equipment will serve three lines of research of great social interest: The bioinformatics group of the University of Vigo, dedicated to the development of phylogenetics and proteomics applications; the group that investigates the transcriptogram, for the marking of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, etc; And the environmental physics group, with its own application for fluid simulation with which they study the interaction between waves and coastal structures, design of marine energy capture devices, flood phenomena, VFX visualization, etc.
Our company has integrated SIE LADON self-manufactured equipment for this project, where we have combined solutions with GPUs, shared memory machines and virtualization equipment. Likewise, we have integrated SAN solutions and both Gigabit, Infiniband and Fiber Channel connectivity. We have also used leading brands such as Mellanox, Qlogic, TP-LINK, Netgear and Infortrend
The system is already set up and will offer new support possibilities for the research offered by the CITI.
