In 1999 the company specialized in scientific calculation systems and High Performance Computing systems, based on standard hardware solutions and open source software based on Linux.
For us it was an important bet, taking into account that the IT systems were mainly based on Microsoft's Windows system.
Today, hundreds of scientists calculate with our clusters and machines, not only from Spain but in many cases remotely from other parts of the world. Dozens of Universities and Calculation Centers, both public and private, use our systems daily, which allow them to advance in the field of Research.
In 2001, Sistemas Informáticos Europeos signs an agreement with Enrique Lomba, director of the Rocasolano Institute of Physical Chemistry (Higher Council of Scientific Research – CSIC).
Thanks to this agreement, there is a qualitative leap in performance, stability, functionality and usability of our HPC systems.
The SIE Ladon systems thus become a reference in the Spanish market, differentiating themselves from other systems by:
Since 2012, SIE has been making a considerable effort to access international markets.
Projects such as the scientific calculation cluster of the University of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and others that will come out in the coming months in countries such as Mexico or Peru, are proof of this.
Through the interactive elements we will be able to provide a better service to all the researchers who work with our clusters and calculation machines.
Also in 2012 we improved our communication with customers and suppliers, improving our 2.0 communication channels. In this initiative we created the following communication systems:
The environment in which our customers move every day is constantly changing and that is why we have to adapt our systems and our communication to better communicate with those who make us improve every day.
For this, face-to-face communication is essential, which is why we organize events such as the Workshop "Parallel computing and GPU Computing" with the presence of Carlo Nardone (NVIDIA Senior Solution Architect). It is important for us to always be next to the researchers. The event is held both in Madrid and Barcelona, with a resounding success in attendance.
We also launched our new website with the intention of centralizing, in a single domain, all corporate and commercial information. In this way we facilitate our clients access to information.
We are preparing it….
Soon we will publish all the information of the first meeting in Spanish dedicated especially to HPC system administrators.
