Today has been the official launch of Intel's new technology for HPC.
The new E5-2600 family processors bring a new level of scientific computing performance to a new level. That is why we did not want to waste a moment in offering you the new SIE Ladon X, which are available as of today.
It is a satisfaction for us to be recognized by Intel as one of the main local integrators in Spain and we enclose the press release.
Sie Ladon X based on the Sandy Bridge family for servers, offers a performance compared to the Westmere of the previous generation, up to 80% according to the SPECfp_rate_base2006 test, which measures the performance in floating point calculation.
In addition, some outstanding features of this microprocessor are: new PCI Express 3.0 bus that triples data transfer, reduction of up to 50% in consumption, 4 memory channels and up to 1600 Mhz in speed, compared to 3 channels and 1333 Mhz of the previous generation.
Finally, it should be noted that the E5-2600 family is available in up to 8 cores. Logically, this processor incorporates many other improvements, but the most important for HPCC is the Intel Advanced Vector Extension (Intel AVX), which allows performance to be doubled.
SIE Ladón X offers reliable, state-of-the-art systems and outstanding features. As always with a 3-year full on-site warranty.
