Proyecto: GLOBALOT

Home Proyecto: GLOBALOT

The evaluation commission of the Call Challenges-Collaboration, has decided to propose the granting of aid to the project entitled Development of high-performance IoT infrastructures against climate change based on artificial intelligence (GLOBALoT).

This project is funded by: FEDER / Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities – State Research Agency / _Project RTC2019-007159-5., Within the Call Challenges, and co-financed by the European Union for technological development, innovation and a quality research. The beneficiary entities of said aid that will carry out the project are:

  • Sistemas Informáticos Europeos S.L.

  • Nutricontrol S.L.

  • VIELCA Ingenieros S.A.

  • Universidad Católica de Murcia.

  • Universitat Politècnica de València.

  • Project start date: 2020
  • Project end date: 2023
  • Code: RTC2019-007159-5
  • Challenges of the Society: Food safety and quality; productive and sustainable agricultural activity, natural resources, marine research and agriculture.

Goals:
The objective of this project is to develop a cross-cutting technology, based on a hardware and software infrastructure, oriented to the fight against climate change. This technology will allow efficient analysis of large amounts of data and images in IoT environments. To achieve this efficient analysis, artificial intelligence algorithms will be used combined with mechanisms that will provide IoT environments with high-performance computing capabilities typical of large data centers. The technology developed in this project will focus, during its execution, on two different areas:

1. The optimization of production systems for intensive agriculture in greenhouses, with the aim of making sustainable use of natural resources.
2. The detection of problems related to the prevention and resolution of catastrophes derived from climate change, through the use of a swarm of drones.
