Sometimes we remember those delicious tomatoes that we ate when we were little or when we traveled to rural places, and now it seems that it has nothing to do with it, well, it seems that many of us have never eaten "a real tomato".
The COMAV (Polytechnic University of Valencia) research group focuses on the use of various wild species in order to genetically improve the cultivated species. Improvement that we have already experienced, those rich tomatoes that are still in our memory and in some "exclusive" greengrocers, are nothing more than a different species.
Humbly, and with some shyness, from SIE, we want to congratulate the entire research team and we hope that the storage system we have supplied is helping the research project.
“Bioinformatics and genomics The COMAV Institute of COMAV is dedicated to the preservation of the variability of horticultural plants and to the breeding plant of horticultural species. Our group works on the genetic, genomic and bioinformatics analysis of these species. To achieve these goals we have developed some kind of software that could be of some use to other researchers like NGS backbone or sff_extract. We also offer analysis and technical support to other researchers.
Our main lines of research are: Genomics and transcriptomic analysis, development of genetic markers, NGS sequence analysis, the study of variation in farmed and wild populations.
We have extensive experience in the field of sequence analysis, both Sanger and NGS based, which we make available to the biological and biomedical communities. Our portfolio of bioinformatics services includes: NGS sequence analysis; Construction of the NGS library; Bioinformatic technology consulting; Basic and advanced training in bioinformatics; Development of custom bioinformatics tools; Genome database and website development.”
