This summer, Sistemas Informáticos Europeos has installed a new cluster in the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. This cluster, corresponding to our series SIE Ladon, is integrated into the XRQTC, Catalan Network of reference inTheoretical and Computational Chemistry.
He brings to the researchers in this discipline nearly 1,000 computing cores, interconnected via an Infiniband networkof 40 Gb / s low-latency, based on AMD Opteron Interlagos edge and speed to 2.6 Ghz (2.9 GHz in turbo mode).
This cluster is a challenge in terms of consumption, because despite the power it brings, is below the 14,000 wconsumption thanks to energy efficiency offered by SIE selected components for manufacturing.
SIE is a Spanish manufacturer specializing in solutions HPC in the field of scientific research and in 2012 started its internationalization process, with new projects overseas.
