IMUS-IAMAT PROJECT

In the first quarter of 2021, SIE supplied a cluster made up of the contests carried out by the IMUS and the IAMAT (Andalusian Institute of Mathematics).

As a result, a large cluster has been achieved, which is physically installed in the CICA (Centro Informático Científico de Andalucía).

SIE Ladon is a system connected by Infiniband HDR, on a switch with 40 ports at 200 Gb/s, which can double to 80 ports at 100 Gb/s, to face new expansions and a DLINK gigabit switch for IPMI connectivity 3.3 (RedFish standard).

The entire system is monitored from the free GSM (Gigabyte Server Management) tool

Cluster management is based on the LadonOS 7.21 suite, built on Centos 7.9, which includes modules for resource management and
workloads, centralized node and software deployment, user authentication and authorization, virtualization, security, and
access control…

The system provides researchers with a computing capacity of 1024 CPU cores (2048 execution threads) on AMD Rome and more than 40.000 NVIDIA cores using Ampere technology, which allows GPU computing capabilities of almost 60 Tflops in double precision. , 120 Tflops in simple precision and almost 2.000 TOPS (tera-operations/s), which makes it possible to face classic HPC, Deep Learning, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence calculations.
